Meet the leadership team – Nadia De Wet
What is your go to karaoke song?
“Strong enough” from Cher or “Ironic” from Alanis Morrisette or “What’s up? from 4 Non Blondes.
What is your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
Jumping on the trampoline with my two little girls or playing their silly imaginary games. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junky as well and have done skydiving, abseiling, etc. I also really love camping in nature as it reminds me with how little we actually need and it helps me to appreciate all the special privileges we have.
Tell us more about the origins of your name?
It is Russian and means “Hope” which strongly aligns to my passion of bringing the best out in people.
I was named after Nadia Comăneci the first Gymnast to score a perfect score. I was fairly good too, until I injured myself.
What’s your favorite to watch and to play/participate in?
I enjoy fitness training and mountain biking. I watch all sorts of sports including rugby (I’m a Cheetahs supporter), tennis, cricket and a range of other sports.
If you could travel back in time to your younger self, what advice would you give?
Don’t take yourself too seriously, its ok to make mistakes and learn from it. Everybody has a story and something to teach you – be openminded as this will help you grow with empathy.
