What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
Without a doubt, the most interesting place I’ve ever visited is Kloof Gold Mine. It’s not just about the mine itself, but the entire history and the story behind it. The sheer scale of the operations and the ingenuity of those early engineers is truly remarkable.
If you could watch only one TV show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That would have to be Ted Lasso. Ted’s relentless optimism and leadership style is really inspiring and it never fails to put a smile on my face.
What’s your favorite hobby outside of work?
Fly-fishing is my go-to hobby. There’s something incredibly peaceful about being out in nature, focusing on the rhythm of casting and the anticipation of a catch.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I’ve had quite a few adventures, but one that stands out is (SCUBA) diving to a depth of 75 meters. It’s an experience that pushes the limits of physical and mental endurance, and is one I’ll never forget.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?
I would choose Frederick Courteney Selous. He was an explorer, hunter and conservationist. Having dinner with him would be an opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of his expeditions and learn about the early days of wildlife conservation. It would be fascinating to discuss his views on exploration, adventure and the natural world.
