Tour de InsurTech is back!

We’re delighted to bring the Tour de InsurTech back for the second-year running. Don’t know what it is? Read on for our guide to the event.

It’s back due to popular demand – Tour de InsurTech! With more riders than last year, comprising new and old faces, Tour de InsurTech 2022 will cover 320 miles (515 km) and provide the opportunity for those with a background in insurance to come together to share their passion for cycling and all things insurtech!

Tour de…what?!

Tour de InsurTech! Ever so slightly inspired by a world-famous cycling event, we’ve pulled together a seven-stage cycling event to bring together the movers and shakers from InsurTech to come together and build great relationships away from the usual corporate event circuit. It’s fun, it’s free to take part in and it’s great for the mind and body.

Where’s it happening?

We’ve got seven stages covering London, Tunbridge Wells, Nottingham, Bristol and Reading, with our riders testing themselves across a range of slow, medium and fast terrains from 12 September to 19 September. This year we’ve got 42 industry leaders taking part, with 14 familiar faces returning to face the action… and the carefully-planned cake stops… after taking part in last year’s inaugural event.

Wait…cake? This doesn’t sound healthy.

The total riding distance this year will be over 320 miles, with up to 90 miles on any one day. We’ll earn the cake.

How did it start?

This is the second event, having kicked off in 2021 just as a post-lockdown get together for friends from InsurTech to get out and enjoy some networking – all whilst having fun and getting healthy. It was such a great success, with such amazing feedback, we decided to make it an annual event, and this year we’re already 50% bigger in terms of riders.

As our co-CEO Andre Symes says: “InsurTech is all about people working together with a genuine commitment to address issues impacting the insurance industry and its diverse range of customers. Great ideas often spark in unusual settings and from informal conversations away from the parameters of ‘work’, so there’s the very real possibility that this year’s team of riders could develop ideas and collaborations which could positively support the evolution of our industry. It’s an exciting prospect!”

Oh go on then, I’m sold! How do I get involved?

Entries are now closed for 2022 and our riders are all set, but please follow us on LinkedIn for updates on this year’s event, and information on how to get involved in Tour de InsurTech 2023!
